Sorry for the lack of material. I have been working and preparing for a two week trip to Vietnam in November.

These span years. I’m sure there are more. I’ve been very busy lately so I apologize for the lack of interesting blog posts. Instead you get feet.

I just purchased this original poster from the 1980 Russian Olympics.

A beautiful day in Malibu. The water was warm enough to swim (though it was rough). Fried seafood was a perfect end to the day. I love how late it stays light now.

My girlfriends threw me a lovely tea party for my birthday on Tuesday night.

The Atwater Village farmers market is every Sunday from 10am til 2pm. There were beautiful melons, mushrooms and cherries today. These flowers are called Wax Flowers. I love the needle leaves. I made a big bouquet and a little one in a yogurt jar.

A girl made a great video using a Mae Shi song and sent it to the band to use as well. I think she did a really excellent job. This is one of my favorite songs from HLLLYH. Jeff left for a Mae Shi European tour with Abe Vigoda yesterday. We’ve moved into our new place but I have a ton of unpacking to do. I love Atwater Village. It is so peaceful and pretty here. We went for a walk the other night and everything was calm and clean. I feel safer here. There is a Chinese food place that reminds me of the place my dad took my brother and me to every week when we were young. They delivered us a huge feast a few nights ago because the kitchen wasn’t unpacked. They have peking ravioli! I’ll post some pictures when we are a little more settled.

CB2 is opening a store in Los Angeles tomorrow. I have been a fan of their online offerings for a while now. Once I’m settled in to the new apartment I’m going to go check it out. I love their lamps and other decorative items. Everything looks so fresh. If I were to find one thousand dollars on the way to their store I would buy a dining room table. I’m really into tables made with reclaimed lumber like the one below.

There was the most beautiful tree outside a Palm Springs area Trader Joes. We dubbed it the bee tree because all the bright yellow flowers had attracted a swarm of bees. Yellow, green and blue feel like such a positive color combination to me. After studying this tree I started noticing them all around Coachella and Palm Springs. I wish we had these in Echo Park.

I just returned to Los Angeles after a fun weekend at Coachella. My weather widget says it was 99 degrees today! I’ll post some pictures from the weekend soon. My dear friend Kate has started a theater blog which I set up for her (she is one of my small sites! Want one?). You can visit her site here and read excerpts from her plays as well.

Caitlin and I went to the beach on Sunday. We also drove around Venice and Santa Monica. It was warm and beautiful. I’m looking forward to the summer.

I harvested my first fruit of the summer today (and it’s not even summer). I have never grown strawberries before. They were very good. Now if I could just grow a few hundred more I’d have something.

It is a beautiful day. Even the leak in my kitchen ceiling can’t change that. I went to the Magic Castle last night which was strange but good. Sherry Lewis’s daughter has taken over the Lambchop act and for some reason she performed (I suppose it was sort of magical). Her set was slightly offensive so I won’t go into details. I didn’t take any pictures because I wasn’t sure if you were allowed to bring cameras into the Magic Castle. In retrospect I doubt anyone would have cared. It was a slow night.

I bought a huge box of strawberries at Ralphs the other day for 99 cents and have been eating them with sugar like I did when I was young. I think that used to be one of my favorite snacks. Kim and I went to a crazy sample sale in Silverlake on Saturday. I found two tops made with sustainable materials. Clothing made with a mind towards the environment is always so soft.

My meyer lemon tree is in bloom and smells amazing. My strawberry plants are also doing well. I’m excited to be growing my own fruit this year.
