We made ourselves a ball column the other day. Puts the hanging plant that used to live there to shame.

New things. Old things. I don’t want summer to end.

Today I bought many colorful things. The produce is for our new juicer. It’s time for another health kick.

Nick brought by a loaner table to use until my custom table is ready. It suffered a little rain damage while it was being stained. You’d think a table made from wood that had been submerged under water for many years would be ok with a little rain but I guess not. Pretty nice place holder, though. The man is a genius craftsman. We need more chairs. The lemons are from the neighborhood and smell amazing. The weather is perfect today.

Nick gifted me the most amazing pepper grinder. It makes a fine mist. I used it to make purple coleslaw and ginger carrot soup.

The picture of the record collection was once again featured in a post on one of my favorite design blogs. Small pleasures ;)

Apartment Therapy LA is one of my favorite home design blogs. It was one of the first things I put in my Google reader when I started collecting blogs to read. I often get behind because there are so many posts. I was going through the backlog when I spotted a very familiar picture of my new apartment. Since this was taken I made curtains for the window. I’ll post some pictures of things soon. I’d hoped to have the apartment ready by now but life got in the way.

CB2 is opening a store in Los Angeles tomorrow. I have been a fan of their online offerings for a while now. Once I’m settled in to the new apartment I’m going to go check it out. I love their lamps and other decorative items. Everything looks so fresh. If I were to find one thousand dollars on the way to their store I would buy a dining room table. I’m really into tables made with reclaimed lumber like the one below.

My meyer lemon tree is in bloom and smells amazing. My strawberry plants are also doing well. I’m excited to be growing my own fruit this year.

These globes are from two different Goodwill stores in Los Angeles. I hope to collect a few more. They were made at different times and thus are slightly different.
