We made ourselves a ball column the other day. Puts the hanging plant that used to live there to shame.

New site up that I made for Vicki’s theater group. Check it out here. I have been on the disabled list following a stream of maladies affecting my right hand. However, if anyone wants a site with very little graphic design I can do them left handed. Just ask. Very user friendly back end on this.

Today I bought many colorful things. The produce is for our new juicer. It’s time for another health kick.

Did a little photo shoot yesterday. The pictures won’t be ready for a while but here are some photos illustrating what a lovely day it was and two of my favorite LA bachelors.

Mud – Peaches. Dir: Vice Cooler.
We shot this so long ago I had forgotten about it. I think it looks amazing! That’s me whipping my hair at the end.

I went to the Los Angeles Municpal Art Gallery’s 2011 Benefit Auction on Sunday with John and Drew. It was held at the beautiful Barsndall Art Park in Los Feliz. I forget how great it is up there. I took some pictures with my new Panasonic point and shoot.

Today I found everything you are supposed to find in a thrift store. The camera cost $2.45. I think it is a lenticular camera. Or 3D as it self advertises. I’m sure lenticular printing is pretty expensive but hopefully the film will look cool processed regularly. I assume it’s like a Lomography Action Sampler (mine is broken). I found a flickr group for the Nishika here. It seems people are just scanning the pictures, making them ‘3D’ in Photoshop and exporting them as animated gifs. I don’t really care to do any of that. I just like adding odd cameras to my collection. The best part of the camera might be that it’s spokesman was Vincent Price. You can check it out on YouTube.

It was in the 90s today. I love LA.

Nick brought by a loaner table to use until my custom table is ready. It suffered a little rain damage while it was being stained. You’d think a table made from wood that had been submerged under water for many years would be ok with a little rain but I guess not. Pretty nice place holder, though. The man is a genius craftsman. We need more chairs. The lemons are from the neighborhood and smell amazing. The weather is perfect today.

Made with fresh lemons donated by my neighbor in honor of Ellis’s visit to Los Angeles this past weekend.

Here is a little minimalist photography that I find very pleasing. The artist is José Javier Serrano and goes by Yosigo. I especially like the use of blank space and a muted palate. I find it to be very ethereal both stylistically and subject wise. On a side note, the artist has a very responsive and simple web site by Indexhibit. Two great examples of minimalism in one go.

Back To The Future
by Irina Werning
Artist’s Statement: I love old photos. I admit being a nosey photographer. As soon as I step into someone else’s house, I start sniffing for them. Most of us are fascinated by their retro look but to me, it’s imagining how people would feel and look like if they were to reenact them today… A few months ago, I decided to actually do this. So, with my camera, I started inviting people to go back to their future.
More here.

I found a half roll of film from my time in Italy in 2004. Perhaps waiting so long gave it this nice tinge.

Cecilia and I cooked a vegetarian Thanksgiving feast all week while Wendell patiently waited for food to fall on the floor.
